Because it is virtually unobtainable, it is unhealthy to expect perfection from ourselves. However, it is both realistic and life affirming to strive for excellence, and we can usually achieve it via self-actualization and maximization of potential. Although we can manage certain aspects of this by taking action, i.e., by practicing, learning proper technique, seeking the best instruction, and working hard, there is one ingredient in the recipe for success we often overlook… mental strength training.
Dr Sloat, an accomplished academic, formerly a competitive athlete in several individual and team sports, and currently a NCCP Level III figure skating coach and choreographer, is qualified to work on performance enhancement with athletes (sports psychology), artists, dancers, musicians, politicians, students, business people, and anyone else concerned with striving for excellence.
